Aftertale Sans x *Shy/Distant* Reader- Its Over

A/N: Ok, this story may make no sense at first. In this, Geno or Aftertale Sans is kinda like a ghost at first. But Reader-chan is lead to something and a great danger puts itself apon you. just go with the flow kay! Hope you enjoy people!


Its been a while, since the monsters came to the surface. You had met a few monsters, well seen them around that is. You were in school, and the bell rang for the first class of the day. So off you went, it was science...yay~ 

You were a shy, distant kind of person. So you didn't have any friends, but that didn't matter to you really. That only meant you had no one to distract you. Upon entering your class,you sat down in your allocated seat. 

"Hey nerd! Alone again today?" Someone called out across the class, you didn't pay no mind to it of course. You only continued to go over your notes. 

The teacher entered, along with someone else. It wasn't a person, its face resembled something of a...skeleton? It just stood there....

"Uh excuse me Sir," You called gaining the teachers attention.

"Who is that behind you? Are we getting a new monster exchange student today?" You asked.

The teacher looked at you confused, looking around him left to right. But nothing was there.

"I'm sorry (l/n), but nothing or no one is there. I hope this isn't a trick, I would certainly not think you would take part in such a thing" He said, voice booming making your heart race. 

All the kids in the class started snickering, holding their hands to their mouths to prevent laughter from erupting. 

"Uh, no of course not sir. I would never dream of doing such a thing. I just thought I saw someone behind you..." You trailed of, sinking into your seat in embarrassment. 

"Very well, just see to it that this doesn't happen again" Sir stated firmly, and you nodded. 

The lesson continued, but you were left in confusion.

~~Timeskip~~

It was a long day, and you had been seeing this figure, this monster walking around all over the place! You thought you were going mad, you had to be.

Brushing it off you packed your books in your bag, going out the front gate of the school walking home as the usual. But it happened again! As you were approaching a corner, there it was again. It turned the corner, red scarf flowing behind him. This was the last straw, so you followed it in the opposite direction to your home path.

As you were following, it was heading towards the forest which looked pretty damn creepy. Speaking of creepy, this character was also on the scale.

It was practically all white, but the scarf was red and its shorts were black with...yeah white stripes. The cloths were stained with blood, a big slash going down its torso, and the...white slippers? Were also tainted with blood, his left eye also covered with a pixel like patch. So why were you following this 'entity' again? Who knows. Speaking of the thing, it had lead you to a very dark part of the woods. So your ability to see was put to a minimal.

On you went, walking further and further.

Then it happened....you fell...there was a hole in front of you all of a sudden then 'POOF' down you went. Man did this remind you of Alice in Wonderland.

It felt like forever, like this hole was infinite. There was nothing around you but pitch black, absolute emptiness. 

'So is this how its gonna end? I was killed because of my own curiosity?' 

Tears came to your eyes, flowing from your eyes and up into the air in bubbles of water because the gravity was different due to you falling. 

. . . . 

'THUD' 

"Ow!" You yelled, and to your surprise your voice echoed though this dark world. Well almost, there was a spot of light and a patch of grass not too far ahead of you. Getting up, you head towards it cautiously. Stepping slowly, you eventually made it. Standing in the middle, staring up into the light.

"Hey kid" A male voice spoke, startling you as you turned around to face the source. 

'It's that thing from earlier!' 

"U-um, w-who are are you?" You asked nervously, taking a small step forward.

He chuckled deeply to himself, then looked you straight into the eyes. 

"I'm Sans, Sans the skeleton" The skeleton answered, then something appeared behind him. A child around the age of eight at least.

"A-and who's that?" You questioned, nodding off to the child hiding behind him.

"This is Frisk" Sans introduced, and you smiled weakly. 

"So whats your name kiddo? Nice of you to 'drop in' unannounced" He said asked in a deep voice, waiting there on the spot with is hands in his pockets for me to replay.

"I-I'm (y/n), I saw you walking by, so I followed you. Then I suddenly fell down here...." You nervously said, looking to the ground.

Sans looked at you curiously, a raised non-existent eyebrow confirming the confusion in his features. "You could see me?" You answered with a nod

"Mhm.."

"That's odd. I should be merely invisible since I'm not part of that AU" He explained, but that left 'you' completely lost as you tilted your head.

"Well if you got stuck here, I can send you back" He offered.

You thought for a moment. You didn't have ANY friends, family connections weren't so great. They probably haven't even realised your absent. Was there any reason to go back?

"Kid?" 

The skeleton brought you out of your thoughts. Looking at him unsure, Sans sighed.

"Need time to think about it?" You nodded in response. "Then that's no problem" 

You weakly smiled. 'This might be a while'

--Time Skip--

It had been what felt like months, but over time your shyness around Sans and Frisk was deteriorating to then blossom into a strong friendship. Or so you thought. Today Sans was away on 'business' in another AU. So it was you and Frisk, alone in the void with no one but each other. Taking this to Frisk's advantage, she thought it would be fun to suddenly tease you. 

Poking you with a mischievous smirk on her features, you turned your head to face her. Witnessing that face suddenly made you feel uneasy. 

"Yeah Frisk?.....whats up?" You asked, cocking an eyebrow up in suspicion.

Signing something in hands it read 'So you 'like like' Sans yes?' 

That made you blush in embarrassment, growling and giving the child a cold glare. This only made her giggle, while you pouted, bringing your knees up to the chest, hugging them and hiding your face. 

Frisk sighed, making you look to the side where she was. Admitting defeat, you nodded making the young girl grin with a nod back. 

"Ok, even if I do. How am I supposed to tell him?" 

Fisk signed 'How he could undertand. With puns!' She looked excited.

Smiling at her suggestion, you thought about it. 'Maybe'

Speaking of the skeleton, he came through a portal. Grinning once he saw you and Frisk. Walking over and sitting cross-legged infront of you.

"So, what did you girls get up to?"

Humming in thought you replied, "Nothing much really, just talking about girl stuff. You?" You smiled, oblivious to the tint of light blue on San's cheeks. 

"Nothing much," He started with a nervous laugh. "Just the usual" You nodded at that. 

An awkward silence spread like fog, until it became to tense to bare. So to break it, you did something that you knew he would love. 

"Well thats in-tents, even if I've never been camping before" You chuckled, gaining a small laugh from Sans. This had you suspicious, frowning a little in concern and raising an eyebrow. Getting up you sat next to Sans.

"Everything alright Sans?" You breathed, as the skeleton looked to the ground. Making Frisk worried, when she went out to reach for San's arm to confort him he rejected it as he took it back out of Frisk's reach.

You looked to the rejected infant, a look of concern still there but a reassuring smile. Knowing that sign meant things were in good hands, she got up and started walking in a differnet direction away from you both. You watched as she faded in plain sight.

Once Frisk was a good distance away, your attention came back to Sans. You tried to place a comforting hand on the said skeletons shoulder, but like he reacted with Frisk, he did the same to you. Bringing is shoulder back in protest.

"Sans whats wrong? 'tibia' honest your not yourself" You stated.

He stayedd silent, his eyes going pitch black as he continued to stare at the ground.

"Hey, get it? 'TIBIA' honest? Thats only one of your most favourite jokes? Whats wrong?" You pushed.

It scared you when this kind of thing happened. Not that it happened all the time.

Trying to come up with a solution, Sans knocked you out of your thoughts when he suddenly cocked his head up fastly. Making you gasp in surprise. 

"Sans....?" You said scared.

Not responding, he all of a sudden went into a rage FIT. Holding the sides of his skull, screaming as if he was in pain. Squeezing his eyes shut as tears welled up as they then flowed down his cheek bones.

"Its all my fault, why? WHY?!.....I miss him, I miss them. Paps, everyone" He chanted on and on.

Sending you into a panic, you immediately took a coarse of action. Bringing one arm around his back, while using your other vacant arm holding his other shoulder. But this didn't last long, as if sub-consciously, he shoved you off, accidentally hitting you on the side if the face in the prosses. This made a sharp gasp escape you with a little scream, falling to your side on the ground. Holding your face in pain, tears collecting themselves in the corners of your eyes. 

"It's all YOUR fault. I'm in this place, everyone is DEAD because if you. Chara." He said darkly, as he was now standing up and looming over you. His right eye glowing blue, fire flickering like fire.

Horrified you backed up, shuffling on your butt to get away. But he just followed, a expression of ANGER showing. This was NOT the Sans you once knew.

"S-sans, I-I have no idea w-what y-your taking about" You stuttered, but that didn't help as he chuckled darkly. Sending unpleasant shivers down your spine.

It just got worse. Sans summoned his 'Gaster Blasters', and they were all aimed at you.

"Enough, time to end this. Time to end YOU" Sans growled.

"Sans! Its me Y/N!! What your seeing is not me, its not real. Chara is long gone, its over!" You exclaimed.

"Lies! Everyone is gone! I can't ever see them again, my brother Papyrus, he's gone. I have NO one. So I'm going to make sure your extinguished for good" He grimaced, and his expression or matter of state wasn't getting better.

"Sans...." You began weakly, "It's me Y/N" You winced, beginning to sob.

San's had no sign of remorse, no mercy what so ever. He was DEAD set on killing you to satisfy his needs. So painfully accepting what events was now going to take place, smiling the best you could manage, fresh tears still in the brim of your eyes, you decided you might as well tell it to him before you where sentenced eternal life somewhere else.

"Hey Sans..." You started, "Just got one thing to say" 

Sans chuckled, "Last words eh? Fine" 

"I love you, and thanks for taking care of me from the day I fell into this endless void" 

The skeleton was taken back, shocked for a split second. Until he frowned deeply out of pure hatred. 

"Nice last words. Cya later" 

And he shot his 10 Gaster Blasters right at you. All at once. Little did he know a certain human was approaching in a hurrying sprint forward, witnessing what was happening she gasped. Your soul shattered into pieces. You were gone.

Frisk broke out in tears, going down on her knees before the murder spot. Sans looked at Frisk shocked.

"K-kid?! What? Then....who?" He looked in front of him.

It took some time to process, but when it came around. San's might as well shattered himself. 

Breaking into a fit of tears, he keeled in sync with Frisk.

"What have I done?.... What have I done?!" He cried, cupping his face with his hands in shame and overcome with grief. 

'I love you, and thanks for taking care of me from the day I fell into this endless void'

Words of the now deceased (h/c) girl, ringed within the skeletons skull like a cave that had had words or sentences screamed into. Bouncing from wall to wall. It was unbearable.

Sans had been crying for over 24 hours. No sleep, nothing to eat. Nothing. 

Frisk had been trying to take good care of the grieving skeleton, but anything was just a waste of time.

He sat there, hugging his knees to his rib cage of a chest. 

"I can NEVER forgive myself...." He sobbed, and Frisk put a hand on his back and rubbed it. 

Things would never be the same anymore. Sans was more broken than before. He had nothing to carry on for....
